3D Printing

Printing your Project

In order to print your project you will first need to download the printing software (associated with the printer you have; click here to go to FlashForge). 

Installing Makerbot Print

MakerBot: Makerbot Print allows you to format your object files to print using the Makerbot Replicator 2. This program is necessary to print your files. After you have designed your object you will need to import the file to Makerbot Print to convert it to an .x3g file. This new file can be loaded on to the Makerbot SD card and loaded into the printer.

  1. Go to this link and click the download button: https://www.makerbot.com/print/
  2. Select the correct version for your computer and select download
  3. Run the executable file that was downloaded to install the program.

Note: The first time you open Makerbot Print you will need to create an account with Makerbot.

And then follow these steps.

Installing FlashPrint

FlashForge: FlashPrint allows you to format your object files to print using the Flashforge Finder. This program is necessary to print your files. After you have designed your object you will need to import the file to FlashPrint to convert it to an .xg file. This new file can be loaded onto a USB stick and loaded into the printer.

  1. Go to this link and click the download button: http://www.flashforge.com/support-center/flashprint-support/

 

  1. Select the correct version for your computer and select download (most recent versions will be at the top of the list)

  1. Run the executable file that was downloaded to install the program.
